The magical Wdzydze. A place where time has become relative and can be turned back at will. Thanks to the kind invitation of the staff of the Ethnographic Museum we spent the whole Thursday creating photos that could have been taken at the turn of the centuries – that is the 19th and 20th centuries of course. They – under the inspired leadership of Iwona Klinger – impersonated the inhabitants of a village from a hundred years ago; wearing identical clothes and doing identical chores as were done in the past. We – Małgosia Bardoń and myself – made sure that they are photographed the way it would have been done a hundred plus years ago – on glass plate negatives. More about the project soon.
During the day some twenty plates covered with hand made emulsion were shot along with digital images that will be used to make oilprints.
