One of the 19th century variations of the calitype, based on the sensitivity of iron compounds to light, even though the image actually comes from silver. The resulting prints are characterized by beautiful brown tones and good contrast. Contrary to popular opinion they will last for a very long time, similar to cyanotypes, if processed properly.
