And here is the lesson. Don’t submit the same image for two competitions at the same time. Especially if it is an oilprint and getting awarded means you have to send a print for the exhibition. It may always happen that the image will get noticed in both competitions and cutting the print in half is not exactly a solution.
I found myself in exactly this situation when my photograph was accepted for two exhibitions in the USA at the same time and I had to make an extra copy almost immediately which is no small task. Fortunately I managed to get the print ready in the nick of time and pictures arrived safely for the exhibitions in Photo Place Gallery and in Se Centre for Photography.
In the meantime the same image was also awarded in the Monochrome Awards; fortunately no print was needed there, otherwise I might have been in trouble.
