When I saw the advertisement for Nikon 1 (you know, the one saying that if it was an espresso machine it would make coffee for me whether I wanted it or not), I though that the final, unbeatable for of photographer’ nightmare has appeared. A camera that will not let me NOT TAKE A PICTURE.

But I was wrong. Canon has retaliated offering the Canon Powershot N – a new type of camera, which will not only judge which picture is good and do all the thinking for us, but will immediately share it online like any good smartphone.

What will be next? A camera that will assess whether the picture is worth taking and will make it impossible for me to take a picture it doesn’t think worthwhile? Is this the time when one wakes up in the middle of the night screaming?
